Travel behind heritage steam locomotive 5917 and Heritage diesel locomotive 42107 from Lithgow to Kandos or Rylstone on the scenic Mudgee line. You will have ample time in Rylstone for lunch and to explore the village before returning to Lithgow in the afternoon.

Private Compartment — $460 per group

One booking is good for up to a maximum of eight (8) people.

Four Seat Booth — $290 per group

Four seat booth with a table in a heritage saloon carriage.

One booking is good for up to a maximum of four (4) people.

First Class Duo — $200 for two people

Lounge seating for two people in our First Class lounge carriage or Open Window carriage

Buffet Car:

In the spirit of The Picnic Train, we encourage travellers to bring their own picnic hamper and beverages.

A small buffet service will be available on The Rylstone Rocket selling a selection of snacks, soft drinks and lollies

BYO alcohol is allowed, however, large eskys will not be permitted

Babies and Toddlers:

Babies in arms and small toddlers may be brought along at no additional cost. Babies and toddlers must be nursed and not occupy a booked seat. 

Toilets:

Toilets are available in all carriages.

Mobile Phones:

There are limited charging points on the heritage equipment. It is recommended that you bring an external battery charger for your mobile devices.

Motive Power:

Steam locomotive 5917 is planned to lead this tour in both directions.
