First performed in 1931, Thornton Wilder’s Our Town became an instant hit on Broadway. It is remarkable that a play set in North Hampshire during 1901 - 1913 (which also has no props, sets, or lighting) remains as one of the most popular plays of the 21st Century. Our Town has not just lasted, it has become an American classic. The world has also taken to Wilder’s play so much so that every night of the year, somewhere in the world, the play is being performed.
