2023 Introduction to Weaving with Jill Pettifer

These classes will give you an introduction to the workings of the loom, preparing a warp, and weaving four shaft weave structures by producing a sampler. Guidance will then be given to develop a n individual project using the techniques learned. Classes are relaxed and informal. Participants can hire a table loom from Canberra Spinners and Weavers to take home and weave independently in between sessions. You can use your own table loom if it is suitable.
Course runs over two weekends: First Weekend: Saturday September 9 and Sunday September 10. Second Weekend: Saturday September 23 and Sunday September 24. 9:30am-4pm each day.
Looms can be hired from CSW for a period of 3 months @ $35/month, ($100 refundable deposit) or you can use your own table loom if it is suitable (check with tutors).
