Rowing students and their families are invited to join this informative presentation by Dr Nicola Lowth and Beck Newton.

Beck and Nicola are passionate, experienced dietitians committed to empowering people of all ages to improve their health and performance through real food nutrition.

This presentation will focus on the simple yet powerful strategies young rowers can take to maximise their energy, focus and performance. They will also discuss practical options for meals and snacks before, during and after training and competition to get the best out of your body.

There will also be plenty of time for questions and discussion at the end.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Dr Nicola Lowth 
Dr Nicola Lowth is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, Clinical Nutritionist and founder and director of Nutrition IQ (www.nutritioniq.com.au). Nicola has diverse experience across a range of health settings, including university teaching, community and corporate health, as well as working individually with clients in private practice for 15 years.

Being an ex-open national-level swimmer and completing a PhD in endurance sport, Nicola understands the demands of heavy training and enjoys the challenge of working with athletes to optimise their fuelling. Nicola specialises in metabolic and hormonal health and has been using metabolic testing in her private clinic for the last 13 years with great success. 

She is passionate about helping people to improve their energy and vitality through optimising metabolic function. Being a credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician, she also works with adults and adolescents to improve their relationship with food and body image.

Nicola also runs workshops and seminars on various nutrition-related topics, including sports nutrition, body image and improving metabolism through real food.

Beck Newton 
Beck Newton has over 30 years of health experience. She’s an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Registered Nurse (general and mental health), Credentialled Diabetes Educator and
Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician.

She supports patients in her private clinic with many different health issues, but pre- diabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, mental health, and disordered eating and her main areas of focus. Her unique skillset is specifically tailored to support people seeking support to improve their metabolic health, along with their relationship with food, eating and body image.

She also facilitates diabetes education programs, body image workshops and nutrition seminars and is a sessional academic at Curtin University, currently working in the Graduate Certificate of Diabetes.
