Enjoy riding behind steam power with steam locomotive R766 on a journey through along the beautiful North Coast line from Maitland to Gloucester and return.

Travel behind one of our heritage steam locomotives, either 5917 or R766 from Maitland to Gloucester on the scenic North Coast line. You will have ample time in Gloucester for lunch and to explore the village before returning to Maitland in the late afternoon.

Private Compartment — $520 per group

Enjoy the benefits of an entire compartment to yourselves — great for families and social groups!

One booking is good for up to a maximum of eight (8) people.

Four Seat Booth — $350 per group

Four seat booth with a table in a heritage saloon carriage.

First Class Duo — $280 for two people

Lounge seating for two people in our First Class lounge carriage, with access to the buffet and bar service.

Buffet Car:

In the spirit of The Picnic Train, we encourage travellers to bring their own picnic hamper and beverages.

A buffet service will be available on the Barrington Picnic Train from the lounge car, with a small selection of light snacks, soft drinks, tea, coffee and alcoholic beverages

BYO alcohol is allowed, however, large eskys will not be permitted

Babies and Toddlers:

Babies in arms and small toddlers may be brought along at no additional cost. Babies and toddlers must be nursed and not occupy a booked seat.

Toilets:

Toilets are available in most carriages.

Mobile Phones:

There are limited charging points on the heritage equipment. It is recommended that you bring an external battery charger for your mobile devices.

Motive Power:

Steam locomotives R766 or 5917 is planned for this tour in both directions.
