Hear A/Professor Judith Lacey speak about Medicinal Cannabis and its role in Cancer Care. Judith is the Head of Supportive Care and Integrative Oncology at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse and is dedicated to developing and integrating supportive care interventions, including complementary therapies and integrative medicine, to enhance the well-being of individuals living with cancer, regardless of their prognosis or disease stage. As cancer survival rates increase, it's crucial to empower individuals as active participants in their care, reducing polypharmacy, including opioids and benzodiazepines. Medicinal cannabis, although requiring further research, offers significant benefits in Cancer Supportive Care. Drawing from Judith's experience, she will discuss the impact of medicinal cannabis on cancer symptom management, particularly in brain cancer, address evidence gaps, and propose strategies for advancing Medicinal Cannabis in supportive cancer care.Location
