About
Well-known, seasoned Australian jazz singer, pianist, composer and educator Sharny Russell, and her daughter Lauren Lucille, also a jazz and pop vocalist, songwriter, guitarist and pianist, are part of a rich musical family heritage, so music is in their DNA. Sharny is now resident in Armidale and Lauren has spent the last 10 years overseas, mainly in London where she performs regularly in the top clubs such as the iconic Ronnie Scotts and the 606 Club. Both have released critically acclaimed solo albums and enjoy performing with elite musicians wherever they go. Together they perform with a high degree of musical rapport and intuitive interplay in a variety of settings including a cappella vocals. This concert will be dotted with musical duets, trios and full band swingers to delight you, including Portuguese duets, courtesy of our their three special guests – Denis Dos Santos on latin guitar, Wendy Griffiths on upright bass, and Cary Bennett on drums.Tickets $30 and $25
