Special Event | A Feast of Singapore Malay Flavours
DESCRIPTION :
Khir Johari takes us on a gastronomic journey into the Malay archipelago with his ‘sweeping exploration of culinary traditions of the Malay peoples’. The Food of Singapore Malays stretches back centuries and encompasses the richness and eclectic peoples of Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Firdaus Sani, a descendant of Singapore’s Orang Laut, the sea gypsy community, presents his mother's authentic dishes and shares stories of these marginalized seafaring folk. Savor a unique, spice-rich long table feast where exotic flavors come to life alongside fascinating tales of Indonesia’s Southeast Asian neighbor with words from Khir Johari, Daryl Qilin Yam, and Firdaus Sani of Orang Laut, hosted by Saras Manickam.
