Forensics & Understanding Severe Dog Aggression: Jim Crosby
About
Renowned Dog Bite Specialist Jim Crosby from the USA will be hosting an intensive one-day workshop on the Forensics of Dog Aggression. Bringing over 23 years of extensive canine behavioural training and expertise, Jim is a Retired Lieutenant who has investigated over 30 dog bite fatalities and assisted in various dogfighting investigations. This course will focus on the investigation of dog bite incidents, particularly those where severe or fatal injuries are inflicted on human injuries. By combining physical evidence, testimony and interview, behavioural assessment and evaluation, the investigator can more readily apply basic principles to understand the why. This workshop will be beneficial for anyone working in law enforcement, animal services personnel, court experts, dog trainers, behaviourists, and those involved in animal welfare legislation.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Develop a detailed understanding of the reasons that dogs engage with targets (victims).
- Develop practices and protocols to professionally investigate such incidents, particularly those with significant injury to one or more humans.
- Learn to evaluate physical evidence to assess dog behaviour and interpret injury patterns and severity on an objective scale.
- Learn the application of evidence and behaviour profiles to assess human responsibility and culpability within the legal system.
