Wednesday Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra
About
Yin is about releasing, yielding and surrendering and is the perfect compliment to our Yang way of living and more dynamic ways of exercising.We hold the asanas for 3-5 minutes, focusing on the target area connective tissues such as fascia, ligaments and tendons, as well as joints and bones. This allows for deeper opening of the body, whilst also exploring our connection to our mind. Yin is perfect for all levels, from beginners to more experienced.
This 75 minute class is then rounded with Yoga Nidra, otherwise known as yogic sleep. As you lie supported in savasana, this guided relaxation technique takes you through the layers of self, promoting deep rest and relaxation.
All props (mats, blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps) are provided, as well as head and eye pillows for shavasana, however you are very welcome to bring your own.
It is suggested to wear comfortable clothing - maybe a few removable layers. Although the room is lightly heated, Yin is a slower, grounded practice, with the majority of asanas seated, or lying down.
