
The ACA has previously developed and delivered a two-part seminar on contract administration in conjunction with Dr. Harm Hollander, Doctor of Creative Industries (QUT) and Angela Yates, Partner at Moray & Agnew Lawyers. Contract administration is a critical skill for architectural practices. This seminar is now available on demand and includes 2 x 1.5 hr recorded sessions. Originally held 16 & 23 March 2023.
This seminar includes 2 x 1.5 hr recorded sessions. The delivery included interactive tasks and discussions that are captured in the recording. Topics included building contract types, the tender management process, contract negotiation, and common and advanced contract workings. See speaker bios below. Guest Speakers
Dr Harm Hollander
Harm Hollander is a practising architect who feels at home in designing and being involved in all steps of procuring complex projects. A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, Harm has also lectured in Construction, Professional Studies and Design at various universities. He has developed comprehensive skills in leading large projects from commencement to completion, working meticulously through brief, design and delivery challenges. As a recent graduate with a Doctorate of Creative Industries, Harm remains the student in seeking further improvement towards better design outcomes.
Angela Yates
Angela Yates is a Partner at Moray & Agnew. She is a trusted specialist insurance lawyer and commercial litigator with over 20 years experience in insurance law. She has extensive experience in professional indemnity and public liability claims with a particular interest in complex and commercially sensitive disputes.
CPD
On completion of all components and submission of answers to CPD questions for both sections, the course will be equivalent to 3 formal CPD points.
Learning outcomes - On completion of this seminar, participants will:
Understand how to run a competitive tender and what options might be available, to understand the fundamentals of how to superindent a contract including all the fundamental sections such as RFI's, Variations, Payment Claims and Defects.
