Eminent historian Graeme Davison, AO will present a talk about his latest family history, My Grandfather's Clock: Four centuries of a British-Australian family. He follows his family from the Scottish Borders to Carlisle, to industrial Birmingham then to Edwardian Australia; from the Great War to his own childhood in suburban Melbourne. As Graeme comments, this type of family history allows us to trace the history of a town, a city or even a country at the same time.
