Perth Chess Academy Sunday Extension Classes
About
These classes develop skills that are essential for success in chess competitions.
Students have the opportunity to work with the Perth Chess Academy Head Instructor (Jay Lakner) in a small group environment. (Maximum of 8 students per class)
The focus will be on chess openings: learning fixed move orders, strategies, pawn structures and common tactics in the opening.
At the end of each course, students will have an excellent knowledge of that specific opening, giving them a solid weapon to use in their future games.
Additional side benefits of each course will be a big improvement in their positional judgement, planning skills and their ability to move fast under time pressure.
Students will be expected to put a lot of effort into these classes. All weekly homework activities will be expected to be completed on time, and many of these will require hard work and dedication.
The three classes available are:
Sundays 1:00pm-2:00pm: Four Knights Opening (Best for Development level students) [SOLD OUT]
Sundays 2:30pm-3:30pm: Sicilian Defense (Best for Advanced and Master Class level students) [1 space left]
Sundays 4:00pm-5:00pm: Kings Indian Defense (Best for Advanced and Master Class level students) [5 spaces left]

COST
The cost for each class is $210 for the term.
Location
The classes will be held at Perth Modern School in the Parsons Building Lecture Theatre.
