This workshop is designed for Secondary Education Assistants working with students with disabilities. It will provide information on:
• Disability knowledge and awareness
• Building positive relationships with teachers
• Practical inclusive strategies and ideas
• Working with individual plans
• Positive and effective communication
• Building student independence
• Developing a student’s ability to self-advocate
You will also have the opportunity to hear the schooling experience of a young person living with disability.
The workshop will be tailored to the group's needs and will be interactive throughout, providing opportunities to share and learn from each other and the presenters.
