About
Melanie Trecek-King is an Associate Professor of Biology at Massasoit Community College, where she teaches a general-education science course designed to equip students with empowering critical thinking, information literacy, and science literacy skills. She is the creator of thinkingispower.com - an online resource that provides engaging and accessible critical thinking content.An active speaker and consultant, Trecek-King loves to share her “teach skills, not facts” approach with other science educators, and to help schools and organisations meet their goals through better thinking.
As part of a two week tour of Australia and New Zealand that included Skepticon, she will be speaking at the Skeptics Café event about “FLOATER - A toolkit for staying afloat in a sea of misinformation“.
Please arrive from 7:15pm for a prompt 7:30pm start. This will be at a private theatre in Northcote rather than a hotel.
