Based on the 1989 cult-classic film, Heathers: The Musical has all the vibes and one-liners from the movie but now with an 80s-rock, synth-infused, guitar-shredding score by Laurence O'Keefe (Legally Blonde: The Musical & Bat Boy: The Musical) and clever, cutting lyrics by Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness: The Musical & Desperate Housewives). Presented as part of the BallaRat Pack's inaugural summer school, this production is being performed by student aged performers (who better to performer a show about surviving high school?) augmented by a cast of seasoned adults.Content Note: Heathers is a satirical look at surviving high school. While fun, the show is set in a heightened world that contains elements not suitable for all audiences.
Content Warning: Graphic violence, Self-harm/suicide/suicidal ideation, Sexual references, Homophobia, Stalking/harassment, Fatphobia and Depiction of death.
