WRU - Wound Debridement & Wound Dressings - 2 day course
The term debridement often means different things to different health professionals. To the surgeon it means down to a bleeding base, to a wound nurse consultant it is removing as much non viable tissue without causing bleeding and to some nurses it just means using a sharp instrument. The workshop will discuss dressings that aid autolytic debridement, wound hygiene and the ethical issues behind your decision making before embarking on dissecting a pigs trotter to gain a greater understanding of anatomy within the wounds you may encounter that require some form of debridement.
The second day will discuss the overarching principles of wound management & factors influencing healing, tissue assessment and setting aims and then on to product /device selection. To help with this day there will be a trade display so you can see some of the newer products being launched as well as learn more about current products
You can book one day or both to attend.
