Assessment & treatment - offenders w/ cognitive disabilities (SOLD OUT)
About
This training provides a summary of the current evidence base for risk assessment and treatment of offending behaviours of people with cognitive disabilities. By the completion of this training session, participants will have knowledge regarding the impact of cognitive disability on offending. Participants will also have knowledge regarding the validity and reliability of risk assessment measures for this population. Both cognitive behavioural and behavioural interventions will be explored, with a particular focus on the application of positive behaviour support and applied behaviour analysis.This full day session is appropriate for clinicians who work with people with a cognitive disability in the community or custodial settings. This workshop will be facilitated by Dr Matt Frize, Director of Forensic Disability Services for the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (Victoria).
