Seeing your Self with Saren Dobkins (SOLD OUT)
Be guided through ways of creating a self-portrait, using both formal elements of composition and an expressionist approach to painting. Students will initially create charcoal drawings, explore tone and composition, as well as create works from the imagination. The final artwork will be an expressionist self portrait using acrylic paint on canvas. This method of painting is immediate, intuitive, expressive, and playful. It doesn’t have to look perfect. Trust your own experience and enjoy exploring how your personal story can be expressed.
