IMPORTANT HOUSEKEEPING

***Please clean up your work area at the end of the class, as much as possible ***

***The containers and Wheel cutters are the property of Mosaics by Awan***

  • Broken crockery, ceramic tiles, grouts and glass contain silica, which is a health hazard, as it is invisible to the eye. This is why when cutting or breaking tesserae and when grouting, you must wear a mask
  • Often when breaking or cutting tesserae fragments can fly around so it is also important to wear protective eye wear
  • It is a good habit when finishing your mosaic work for the day to always remove your clothes/ apron and wash as soon as possible, to remove any tesserae fragments
  • The glue we are using also has an odour, if it is offensive wear a mask
  • If you have allergies to glues please wear the disposable gloves available or bring your own
