SCA (Vic) Sustainability Case Study Series (September)

About
.The Strata Community Association (VIC) is hosting a series of six presentations, made possible through a grant secured from the City of Yarra. This event series will offer insight from strata management companies and industry suppliers as they share their experiences and insights on implementing sustainable initiatives in owners corporations.
The Tip Top Brunswick East case study, presented by Sebastian Golotta- Sustainability Manager at Engine Property Group, showcases various sustainability initiatives, including LED lighting upgrades, a communal vegetable garden, and fruit trees. Key sustainability features were implemented during development, such as solar electricity generation, solar tubular hot water, rainwater collection, and grey water filtration.
Post-completion, additional upgrades included LED lighting and community gardens. The projects aimed to reduce energy costs, enhance property value, attract a broader range of owners and tenants, and promote environmental benefits.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the sustainability features and upgrades implemented at Tip Top Brunswick East.
2. Recognise the financial and environmental benefits of sustainable practices in multi-residential developments.
3. Identify the challenges and processes involved in executing large-scale sustainability projects and gain insights from industry professionals on implementing these strata initiatives.
