About the Comedians
Sarah Stewart:
Sarah has always enjoyed making people laugh. She performs regularly in Canberra and Sydney, has had sold-out shows at the Canberra Comedy Festival, and was nominated for 'Best in Comedy' at the Sydney Fringe Festival last year. She is currently working on a solo show set to tour in the next few months. Additionally, Sarah is the founder of The Durham Comedy Club in Kingston.
Hamish Hudson:
Known for his sharp wit and unique take on Australian life, Hamish is one of the country's top musical comedians. With the ability to take audiences on a delightful journey from world-class songwriting to the cheekier side of profanities, his music is clever, simple, poignant, and unapologetically non-PC, leaving crowds wanting more and humming his ridiculously catchy lyrics for days.
Tom Gibson:
Tom, a comedy renegade, has been tearing across Australia for over a decade, leaving comedy rooms in tatters and audiences rolling on the floor in hysterics. Apart from his success in comedy festivals, Tom is a highly sought-after corporate comedian, speaker, and a favorite in comedy clubs. He hosted The Brightside breakfast show on 2XX 98.3FM, is a published fiction author, and currently produces and hosts the podcast 'Yeah, But How?'
Laura Johnston:
Laura is a musical comedian who has opened for the likes of Luke Kidgell. With four years of involvement in the sketch comedy show ANU Law Revue, including a stint as co-director in 2022 and producer in 2023 (despite never having studied law), Laura has successfully fooled them all. With years of practice singing and writing her own silly songs and jokes, she promises an entertaining evening.
Mitchell Woolfenden:
Although Mitchell dreams of being a sketch comedian, he performs characters in stand-up comedy shows to sneak in. While lacking sharp observations or a quirky take on daily life, he compensates by telling rambling stories in silly voices that promise laughter.
Jeremy Smith:
Focusing on the serious side of life would be sensible, but Jeremy’s comedy thrives on meandering through the world and personal observations of mediocrity. With a real conflict of interest, Jeremy poses the question: Succeed and be happy or fail and be funny? Prepare for insights on how not to 'life.' A regular on the Canberra comedy circuit for the last four years, Jeremy has performed in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Launceston, earning the title of ACT Raw Comedy finalist in 2022 and 2023.
Caitlin Maggs as MC:
2020 Raw comedy national finalist Caitlin Maggs is a mother, electrician, and comedian. A regular in the Canberra comedy scene, Caitlin is gearing up for a sold-out show at the upcoming Canberra Comedy Festival.
