Ukulele Composers' Presentation Day
About
New music for fingerstyle ukulele:Sally, Carter, Keith Rea, Cathy Welsford and Angie Smith are presenting a day of ukulele workshops, showcasing new music for instrumental ukulele by international and national composers.
The workshops are for soprano, concert and tenor ukuleles only.
Participants will need access to both a High and a Low G ukulele.
These workshops do not cater for baritone ukuleles.
We have selected two pieces from each of the following composers:
Samantha Muir, Paul Mansell, Sally Carter, Tony Mizen, Choan Galvez and
Cathy Welsford. After being performed, a teaching session will explain
different technical elements for the tune which we will then play through.
It is not expected that each participant will be able to play the tunes at the recommended tempo, rather to build an understanding of how to play the tunes and practise them in your own time.
A booklet of all the tunes and technical elements will be provided.
Morning and afternoon tea provided.
