About
Come and join us this month to learn about greener clothing choices.This month will host textile art displays, mending workshops, modern mending, films, a clothes swap, speakers and more all about textiles and the enormous amount of waste created by clothing.
The month will be rounded off by Nina Gbor, a woman with impeccable taste. Nina will talk to us about the importance of greener clothing choices, and how more thoughtful purchases will often save you money. Following Nina's talk we will open the floor to let the clothes swap begin.

Fashion designer Amy Powney of cult label Mother of Pearl is a rising star in the London fashion scene. Raised off-the-grid in rural England by activist parents, Amy has always felt
uneasy about the devastating environmental impact of her industry. When she wins the coveted Vogue award for the Best Young Designer of the Year, which comes with a big cash
prize, Amy decides to use the money to create a sustainable collection from field to finished garment, and transform her entire business. Over the following three years, her own personal revolution becomes the precursor of a much bigger, societal change.
This event will be held in the Bong Bong Room, Civic Centre, Level 1 - there is a lift should you require one.

Join us in the atrium at the Civic Centre for an inspirational restyle session with Nina Gbor. Nina will transform outfits with just a few changes in the restyle session, teaching you how to make the most of your current wardrobe, followed by the clothes swap.
Please note clothes must be dropped before this session, 5 alternative times and dates have been provided. Please ensure you only drop womans clothes, bags or shoes, that are washed, lightly worn and no fast fashion will be accepted, for example, Temu and Shein.

Please make sure you drop off any clothes to be swapped before this event time. There are 5 different time slots throughout October to give you flexibility for drop times, please have a look at these and book in to ensure a staff member is aware you will be coming in.
We are accepting womans clothes, bags and shoes that are in wearable condition, this means, no stretching, stains, and please no fast fashion (Temu, Shien). This event is created to bring about an awareness of the impact fast fashion in particular has on our environment.
