Renting First Aid Workshop (In-Person)
About
This face-to-face tenancy workshop is designed for professionals who support young people, people who have recently arrived in NSW or people with disability. It builds confidence and expertise, allowing workers to help clients:- get a realistic idea of starting costs
- look for rental accommodation (including types of accommodation available)
- properly inspect and apply for a rental property
- understand residential tenancy agreements
- how to complete condition reports
- how to address common issues that might come up during a tenancy (such as repairs, rent increases or what can be done if a client is behind in rent)
- learn what clients can do if they want to get out of a lease
- identify options of a client receives a notice of termination
- know where to go for help if the problem is too big
The focus of these sessions is on providing practical professional development. The training is scenario-based to help workers apply tenancy knowledge to the real world.
