2024 Introduction to weaving (Spring) with Jill Pettifer (SOLD OUT)
Learn to weave with Jill Pettifer. These classes will give you an introduction to the workings of the loom, preparing a warp, and weaving four shaft weave structures by producing a sampler. Guidance will then be given to develop a n individual project using the techniques learned. Classes are relaxed and informal. Participants can hire a table loom from Canberra Spinners and Weavers to take home and weave independently in between sessions. You can use your own table loom if it is suitable.
Course runs over 2 different weekends: Saturday August 24 and Sunday August 25 then a two week break to finish sampler and then Saturday September 7 and Sunday September 8. 9.30-4.00pm
Looms can be hired from CSW for a period of 3 months @ $35/month, ($100 refundable deposit) or you can use your own table loom if it is suitable (check with tutors).
