No prior experience of blending or carding is required, but a love of fibre is definitely an advantage!Come and enjoy a relaxed and creative day playing with fibre. Four different techniques of blending and carding will be demonstrated, using a drum carder and blending board. You will then be able to try those techniques, or just experiment with your own ideas. The materials fee covers access to different fibres and colours to try, or you can use your own fibre. You may like to bring your spinning wheel and spin your batts straightaway, or you can take them home to play with at your leisure.
Bring the fibres you would like to blend, eg. Dyed tops, roving, raw fleece, silk noils etc. A selection of fibres of various colours and textures will be provided by the teacher.
