About

Different authors call it by different names. Evelyn Neher calls it ‘Alternating’ because the warp is threaded with dark and light threads alternating. Laverne Waddington calls it ‘Complementary’ warp pickup. One shed on the loom holds all the dark threads, while the other holds all the light threads. If you weave this warp structure as plain weave, you will get
horizontal stripes.

This course will teach you how to read alternating pick-up patterns and reproduce it on the band.
1st hour-  Warping and setting up the loom (please review the beginners course material). If
you want to practice. Refresher information from the beginner course will be sent out prior to
this course.
2nd hour - single thread; single colour pickup
3rd hour - double and triple threads, pickup of both colours
4th hour - pick-up and drop down colours to make reversible band.

Inkle Looms can be hired from CSW for $35 per month plus $100 deposit.
