George-Murray Nightingale
George-Murray was born in Manchester, England. He studied ballet, tap and jazz at Kathleen Atherton’s Academy of Dance, in Leigh. At age 11 George attended The Hammond School, in Chester; and then later furthered his training at English National Ballet School, London.
After graduating English National Ballet School with a diploma George performed as a guest with English National Ballet and then accepted the invitation to join The National Ballet of Romania. In 2016 George joined The Royal Ballet of Flanders, Belgium where he was picked to dance as Spartacus’s companion with Ivan Vasiliev.
George accepted the invitation by David McAllister to join The Australian Ballet in 2017. George was promoted to the rank of Coryphee in 2022 before leaving the company to go more freelance in 2023. Whilst with The Australian Ballet, George was part of the 60th anniversary tour to London, performing Emeralds Pas de Tois from Jewels at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
During the global pandemic in 2022, George graduated with Distinction in dance teaching from The Royal Academy of Dance. George has recently retired from the Australian Ballet Company as a with his last extraordinary performance in Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland© playing the Mad Hatter.
