Come along to the Long Gully Community Garden to learn all about how to grow and ferment or dry pickle great tasting olives.We will also make extra virgin olive oil using the 3000Acres mobile olive press. This machine breaks out each stage of the olive oil making process, so participants can get a hands on look at what it takes to turn olives into oil.
Presented by Ceilidh Meo of Apulia Grove Olives, this event will cover best practice for growing olives from caring for the trees, to fermenting the fruit or making extra virgin olive oil, as well as information on how to identify and use this liquid gold to benefit your health and improve your cooking.
The cost to participate is $20pp or $10 concession, limited to 20 participants. Please BYO secateurs, mugs and lunch. Morning tea and all materials required will be provided.
