Port Phillip Novice Bike Riding Skills for Older Adults 2024

hero
This 2.5 hour practical bike riding skills training session is ideal for older adults who can balance and pedal, and have rudimentary bike riding skills, but who may have not ridden for some time, or may lack confidence.

Improve your riding skills so that you can get on your bike to visit friends, go shopping, ride to work or study, or for fitness and recreation.

This course is commissioned by the City of Port Phillip and facilitated by Bike it Better, for people who live, work or study in Port Phillip.

In a traffic free environment participants will practice basic but essential bike control skills including smooth starting and stopping, using gears, scanning and signalling, and skills for riding on shared paths and roads.

Participants must be able to balance and pedal to ride a bike without training wheels (even if a bit wobbly), and need to bring their own bike and a helmet.
