Creative arts in mental health care for older adults
About
This webinar introduces music, art and dance as interventions for improving wellbeing in older adults in palliative and aged care settings and for those with progressive neurological disease. Such interventions can activate brain regions involved in wellbeing and can stimulate self-narratives and emotional expression, while also reinforcing language and memory. By applying principles of reminiscence therapy together with music, art and dance, there is scope to offer a richer and more nuanced therapeutic experience to older adults across settings.Location
