Techniques of Teaching Success: Port de Bras & Adage

This series of 6 workshops will provide an in-depth understanding of effective teaching methods, leveraging the fundamentals of classical ballet technique, by breaking down the ballet class into components and conducting analysis of its technical elements.
Individual workshops will include topics on Barre work, Ports de Bras and Adage, Pirouettes and Turns, Allegro, Boys work and Pointe work.
This workshop is a 3-hour face-to-face focusing on Port de Bras and Adage.
Who can attend?
RAD Registered Teachers
RAD FoE Students*
Non-RAD Registered Ballet Teachers
*RAD FoE students are welcome to participate in the workshop but it should be noted that these workshops have been designed for those with 1-2 years of teaching experience
The aims of these workshops are to:
- Enhance participants' understanding of classical ballet technique
- Increase understanding of the purpose and development of exercises
- Develop effective teaching strategies and methods to convey concepts to students of varying ages and skill levels
On completion of each workshop, you will:
- Have an increased understanding of classical ballet technique as it relates to the workshop topic
- Have gained practical experience of effective teaching strategies and methods regarding the specific component of the class
- Understand how to incorporate these strategies into your dance teaching practice
