2024 String Conductors' Workshop

AUSTA Victoria are pleased to be running the 2024 String Conductors’ Workshop featuring guest clinician Warwick Stengårds.
Warwick Stengårds is an Australian/Swedish freelance conductor based in Vienna. In Europe and Australia, Stengårds has studied with such notable conductors as Peter Eötvös, Vittorio Parisi, Ronald Zollman, Robert Rosen and Vladimir Verbitsky.
In addition to an extensive symphonic canon, Stengårds has a music-theatre repertoire of over 100 works performing with companies such as Vienna State Opera, Volksoper Wien, Folkoperan Stockholm, Opera Australia, Victoria State Opera, Chamber Made Opera and West Australian Opera where, in 1991, he was appointed Music Director.
Two levels of attendance will be offered:
CONDUCTOR - Must attend both days of the workshop. Conductor participants will have 15-20 minutes on the podium on each day of the workshop, and string players will play in the ensemble for the remainder of the time as appropriate. Conductors will receive a video of their podium time on each day. Conductor registration: $150.
OBSERVER - Observer participants will play in the ensemble as appropriate. Can attend one or both days of the workshop. Observer registration: $50 per day.
