Learn the basics of weaving and experiment with weaving tricks on a rigid heddle (“knitters”) loom. Open to all!Beginners
You will learn how to set up the Rigid Heddle loom and prepare a warp. You will explore many creative and experimental possibilities with plain weave structure. You will then receive guidance to develop a project using the techniques learned.
Beyond Beginner
One possibility is to learn to weave double cloth. Double cloth opens up a wide world of possibilities to weave cloth double the width of your loom, and make tubes that can be used to make bags and clothing.
Other Options include experimenting with pattern with pick up, floats and textural effects. You will receive guidance to weave a sampler trying out different ideas and then develop your own project using the techniques learned.
Classes are relaxed and informal. Participants are encouraged to take their work home and weave independently in between sessions.
