About
Steven Nisbet is Australia’s most prolific composer of reharmonisations of last verses of hymns. He has written reharmonisations and descants for 171 hymns, most of which are in his book Creative Last Verses (Edition 4).
In this session Steven will describe the 13 approaches he uses firstly to reharmonise and secondly to add a suitable descant for treble voices or an obbligato for men’s voices. He will also give advice for developing the musical skills required to reharmonise hymns.
