Stonewave Taiko is turning 10 in 2024! To celebrate we will hold 3 days of miyake-style taiko workshops and a mini Japanese Festival in Bega in early July. We have invited members of Japanese miyake group, Miyake Jima Geino Doshi Kai to visit Bega and participate in our event.On Wednesday 3rd July, a miyake workshop will be held in Cobargo from 4-7pm and on Thursday 4th July, in Bega from 4-7pm. All abilities from beginner to more experienced are welcome at these workshops.
On Friday 5th July, we will hold a mini Festival in Littleton Gardens, Bega in the morning with Japanese cultural activities, taiko workshops and a miyake performance. This will be a rare opportunity to witness the raw power and physicality of miyake, as played by masters of the form.
