Big Hearted Gardens: Community and Care
About
Visitors to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS) come to see the latest in garden design, new plants and landscaping materials, a wide array of gardening products, amazing floristry and, of course, incredible show gardens. Behind the scenes there is a hive of activity, as complex landscapes are built within a week and then, after another few days, disappear forever, as if a garden fairy had simply waved her magic wand!
Yet, show gardens also have much potential to inform and educate the thousands of visitors who see them, and to contribute to community initiatives long after the show closes its gates. Join landscape architect Emma Sheppard-Simms in this webinar as she tells the story of how she created two beautiful and socially-conscious show gardens at MIFGS in 2023 and 2024. From the first spark of an idea, through the planning, construction and their award-winning legacy; this presentation shows that small show gardens can still have a big impact! We'd love to see you there
