2024 Tapestry Workshop with Cresside Collette

A three-day immediate level tapestry weaving workshop with Cresside Collette. This involves spending an initial day at the National Botanic Gardens to observe vegetation and flowers as inspiration for drawings and/or photographs that will form the basis of a design for a woven tapestry.
Days two and three take place in the workshop room at Canberra Spinners and Weavers where participants will develop their ideas with assistance from Cresside into a tapestry weaving.
Participants must bring their own 60cm by 40cm frame loom with no notches or ridge for warping. Instructions are provided to build your own if necessary. Also bring sketchbook, drawing materials and camera.
Cresside Collette is a tapestry artist who was a foundation weaver of the Victorian (now Australian) Tapestry Workshop and has been exhibiting since 1971. Her work has evolved through an interest in drawing on the figure and landscape forms as subject matter.
