About
The focus of the Library PD event is to assist Library Staff achieve the following goals:Continuously develop the Library contribution to whole school learning provision, a quality library collection that is diverse and meets the needs of 21C learners, and promote independent thought and a love of reading. Thus achieve:
• An innovative and enthusiastic approach to libraries, reading and information seeking.
• Well documented, concise and thorough library Policies and Procedures in accordance with A Manual for Developing Policies and Procedures in Australian School Library Resource Centres (ALIA & VCTL)
• Collaboration between Library and teaching staff to identify, evaluate and select appropriate resources to complement units of study within specific subject areas.
• Development and implementation of strategies, programs, events and activities to foster and support reading and strong literacy across the curriculum.
• An ongoing commitment to professional learning.
