About
A 60-minute session where children will learn about bees, the importance of bees, their role for our planet, the plight they are facing and what we can do to help. This is done using engaging, hands on and play based experiences. Tasting, touching, looking, feeling and smelling. We will look at:
Types of bees (native/introduced)
Bee lifecycle roles of bees
How to respond or behave around bees
Bees' role for our planet and the plight they are facing
What we can do to help
Demonstration of beekeeping suit and equipment
Observation hive with a glass panel so students can observe a real hive in action
Honey tasting
Smell and touch beeswax
