PRE-BOOKINGS HAVE NOW CLOSED, BUT TICKETS REMAIN AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE DOOR.Shrouded in secrecy over the centuries, the fraternal organisation known as the Freemasons has drawn together great minds from many walks of life, including a large number of musicians and composers. While Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is probably the most famous composer who was a mason, other great name may come as a surprise.
The Bach Society of Queensland’s 2024 Winter Warmers concert will have something for everyone as we explore Music by Masons, from classical greats such as Mozart, Haydn, Sibelius and Wesley, through to great names in music theatre, including Gilbert and Sullivan, Meredith Wilson, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin, and jazz giants like Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Nat King Cole.
