Norwood Business Lunch June 2024 – Olympics Theme
On the eve of the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics, the Norwood Business Lunch welcomes three-time Paralympian Katrina Webb and Olympic Cyclist David Solari as guest speakers on June 28.
KATRINA WEBB
Katrina Webb is recognised and acknowledged for her success as a Paralympic athlete. She has won Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in Track & Field events at three Paralympic Games.
She was the first torch bearer to enter the Stadium for the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games and in 2006 Katrina was selected on behalf of the International Paralympic Committee to speak at the United Nations in New York.
Off the Track Katrina is the Director of Silver 2 Gold High Performance Solutions which specializes in powering organisations, teams and individuals best.
Katrina is a global ambassador for the International Paralympic Committee and due to her own experience in dealing with a disability and a deep love of helping others, Katrina is the Founder and Director of Newday Leadership a platform to inspire leadership for the greater good.
Katrina Webb is an international speaker, leadership and personal mastery consultant, trainer in Wellbeing and Resilience, and a physiotherapist.
Katrina worked with Channel Seven as a reporter at the Tokyo 2020/21 Paralympics Games and was part of the Australian Team Executive at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
Katrina loves to be challenged. She has walked the Kokoda track and has trekked to Basecamp Everest twice. She is also a mother to not just to one but to three beautiful boys.
DAVID SOLARI
David Solari is a former cyclist notable for being the first to be crowned national champion in two different countries in 1985. He was an Australian Junior pursuit champion and an Italian champion, holding dual citizenship. Solari represented Italy at the 1988 Summer Olympics and nine World Track Championships, winning two bronze medals in 1986, a bronze in 1989, and silver in 1990, 1991, and 1992. He also won eight Italian National Track Championships and represented Italy 158 times. Solari was an Australian champion in 1985 and 1992.
As a road cyclist, he achieved 78 international road victories, including:
- 3rd in Individual Pursuit at the 1986 Junior World Championships
- 3rd in Team Pursuit at the 1986 Junior World Championships
- 3rd in Team Pursuit at the 1989 World Championships
- 2nd in World Motor-pacing Championships in 1990, 1991, and 1992
- 1st overall at the 1987 Giro del Salento, with one stage win
- Winner of Vicenza-Bionde in 1992
- 1st at the 1990 Cinturón Ciclista Internacional a Mallorca in Spain
Guests will enjoy a 3-course meal and a 3-hour beverage package commencing at 12.30 for 1.00 pm. Cost is $125 per ticket or $1100 per table of 10.
