My Slovenian-style Sunday Lunch

Sonia Anthony; chef/owner of Masons of Bendigo, ignited by a recent trip to Slovenia, is bringing inspiration to Bendigo in August and September at the beautiful surrounds of Vin Du Van.These casual-style lunches begin with wine tasting by hosts; Blake and Annalise. Choose your favourite before taking a seat in the warmth, overlooking the vineyard.
The menu will be based on what’s available within the region and will start with ‘Juha’ a light chicken broth with home-made egg noodles. Then followed by two share-style starters, mains to follow and finished with something sweet. There may be an apple strudel baking in the oven to round off lunch; as an example.
Bordering Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia, Slovenian cuisine has many influences and quite often the talking point around where certain dishes actually began!
$120 per person includes wine tasting, a glass of wine and lunch.
