Away
About
Set in 1960s Australia, Away follows three families on holiday, each grappling with personal issues. The play opens with a school production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, reflecting themes of love, transformation, and the blurring of illusion and reality. As our characters confront their struggles and grow amidst uniquely Australian coastal and bushland settings, these Shakespearean motifs resonate deeply. We are proud to present this play and these characters as they reflect our societal growth. Away transcends class distinctions and xenophobia, demonstrating how understanding and empathy can bring us together. The characters' journeys towards reconciliation and personal growth mirror our collective progress, making this play a timeless and poignant reflection of our evolving identity.
