Diamond Valley, Eltham, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Plenty Valley Lions proudly present a charity luncheon raising funds for Backpacks4VicKids.Taking place at the incredible Montmorency and Eltham RSL, each attendee will be presented with a delicious 2-course lunch, a wonderful silent auction, & the opportunity to support those in need within the community.
Backpacks4VicKids:
Did you know that 45,000 Australian children are in an out-of-home care placement such as foster care? There are around 4,000 new placements each year in Victoria alone.
Children are often placed quickly into foster care, kinship care, or emergency accommodation without much more than what they are wearing. B4VK provides them with essential items to ease feelings of loss and to help with their relocation.
The estimated cost of a pack is $100 (an increase of $25 per ME Pack due to COVID19 that we aim to turn around by 2024), but saves an agency or carer approximately $400.
