It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Australian radio legend Sam Anglesey at 80 years of age (3 December 1944 - 7 July 2024). Trailblazer, innovator, risk-taker, beloved father and grandfather, and a radio legend in a golden era of broadcasting, 'Big Sam Anglesey' led a full and diverse life, and it is a life well worth celebrating.Sam's family invite you to join us to celebrate Sam at the Royal Oak in Launceston on Sunday 15 September from 2pm - 5pm. RSVPs are essential.
Friends, former colleagues and all who loved Sam are invited to share stories, anecdotes, photos and memorabilia on the day. If you would like to say a few words, record audio or video to be played on the day, or have a memory read out, please email us.
