RailFest 2024 (SOLD OUT)
The Railway Museum turns 50! Celebrate our railway heritage with fun activities for all ages. See our huge collection including WA's only electric loco as it turns 100 years old, see our restored steam loco 'Greenmount' in steam as well as some special diesel locomotives on display. Check out the progress with our 1951-built historic diesel loco GM1 - Australia's first mainline diesel in service. There are model trains, a railway swap meet, activities for children, displays including Northern Districts Model Engineering Society (rides need enclosed footwear), railway themed 'swap meet stalls as well as the local railway preservation groups. All this for just the usual admission charge. Refreshments available.
Railfest runs from 10am to 4pm.
