Ben Hoadley and the Ellery String Quartet

The Ellery String Quartet, one of Canberra's favourite ensembles, joins with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra's principal bassoonist Ben Hoadley to present a dynamic recital of works old and new. The programme will include Ben's own string quartet in its Australian premiere, alongside Gillian Whitehead's seminal bassoon solo "Ngā hā o neherā" in a special 20th Anniversary performance.
A recently rediscovered gem by Josef Michl, a contemporary of Mozart, and Weber's brilliant "Andante and
Hungarian Rondo" in a sparkling arrangement for bassoon and string quartet will top off this exciting concert.
