Maternity Education: Childbirth & Parenting Sunday Class
About
Preparing for the arrival of a new baby can be both exciting and overwhelming, especially for first-time parents. We want parents to experience as much confidence and joy as possible throughout pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood. To support you on this journey, we offer comprehensive parent education services, including parent education classes, maternity unit tours, a maternity pre-admission clinic, and telephone support. Our parent education classes cover a wide range of topics, including pregnancy, labour and birth, breastfeeding, and early parenting. Facilitated by experienced midwives, these relaxed and interactive sessions provide a safe and supportive environment where you can learn, share experiences, and ask questions. Some classes may also include other qualified health professionals who provide expert advice on specific topics. Our Childbirth and Parenting Class is a comprehensive one-day workshop designed to help you prepare for labour, birth, and life with your new baby. The class covers practical birth preparation strategies, pain management options, postnatal recovery, newborn care, feeding, and the transition to parenthood.
We recommend attending this class between 32 and 34 weeks of pregnancy to ensure the information is fresh and relevant as you approach your baby's birth.
A guided tour of the Maternity Ward will be offered following the class, providing an opportunity to become familiar with the environment before the arrival of your baby.
